Forest of DeanIn this Making the Links Radio program, we are bringing you the first Canadian Broadcast of the poetry, song and storytelling of Dave Harvey, a bard of the Forest of Dean. Dave Harvey is a free miner, forestor and ardent protector of the commons. His words evoke great passion for the hard life of miners and the beauty of nature and the Forest of Dean community.

When one meets him you are overwhelmed by his openness to all and his commitment to passing on the oral history of a profound place. The Forest of Dean has been described psycho-geographically as an independent island state  between England and Wales and has  long been hotbed for creative artists, such as Dave Harvey.

This program is a tribute to  Dave Harvey for what he has given this earth in his poetry, songs, story telling and great sense of humanity.
